Jeremy Peter Green

Founder and Managing Attorney

Jeremy Peter Green is a New York City–based attorney licensed in New York and Washington, D.C. who primarily works for entrepreneurs, startups, and mid-sized businesses. Green earned his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law on a full tuition scholarship.


Green has been profiled on USA Today, CNBC, NPR’s Morning Edition, CNN Money, MSNBC, the New York Daily News, HLN, CNN Politics, DCist,, CNET,, NBC News, WIRED, Refinery29, The Hill, and several other news sources. Green handled 770 new federal trademark applications in 2018, making him the 10th most prolific trademark attorney in the United States.


Green enjoys drawing and inking comics. He is best known for buying in 2011 and putting “Hillary Potter” fan fiction and cartoons there in 2016. For this he appeared on every major cable news station as well as dozens of major news sources, before announcing his sale of the domain name on NPR’s Morning Edition.

Green is a member of the National Lawyers Guild and the LGBT Bar Association of New York. He formerly served as General Counsel for Teamsters Local 922 and is currently helping organize Drive United, a Washington, D.C. area organization advocating for representation and better conditions for Uber and Lyft drivers. Green is also a licensed New York real estate broker.

Oyebola Ayeni (New York Bar license pending) received her LL.B. from the University of Lagos and practiced law in Nigeria before earning her LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the Cardozo School of Law in New York City, attending on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. She now works at JPG Legal as a Trademark Associate, handling a variety of legal matters relating to Trademark Law.

Alejandro Palma received his J.D. from the Cardozo School of Law in New York City on a full tuition scholarship, focusing his studies on intellectual property law. Palma is also an accomplished songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist who makes music in a variety of genres and has won numerous songwriting competitions. Yudi Ortega received her master’s degree in Neuroscience and Education from Columbia University. In addition to several years of paralegal experience, Yudi has worked on multiple research projects that have led to the publishing of papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Her hobbies including yoga, tennis, painting, and running. She works at JPG Legal as a Trademark Paralegal, performing research on trademark matters and helping clients’ trademarks reach registration.

Republic Restoratives, a D.C.-based, woman-owned distillery, wanted to dedicate a whiskey to the women who inspired them. The United States Patent and Trademark Office, however, disagreed with their vision and rejected their trademark application for being “named after a living person.”

Fortunately, Jeremy Peter Green was their trademark attorney. He quickly drafted and filed an Office Action Response, citing various precedents and statutes, and the rejection was overturned. Now Rodham Rye is being sold in a multitude of stores around the East Coast.
